WELCOME TO OUR SELF CATERING HOLIDAY COTTAGES IN NORTH YORKSHIRE

We are a small family run business offering five family and dog friendly self-catering holiday cottages complete with indoor heated swimming pool, a games room, outdoor play equipment and 2 acres of gardens in the pretty village of Ebberston in the Vale of Pickering in North Yorkshire.  Since starting in 2020 we have received some great reviews from our guests, have a look for yourself.  We are nestled between the North York Moors, on the edge of the Great Yorkshire Forest and the rolling Yorkshire Wolds.  We are a short drive from the seaside towns of Whitby and Scarborough, as well as the market towns of Pickering and Malton. This allows us to offer the best that the county of Yorkshire has to offer. Book direct with us to get the best prices. We provide comfortable and welcoming self-catering holiday cottages in Yorkshire for those that want to experience the best of the Yorkshire Coast and Countryside.  Whether that is a day out on the North York Moors Steam Railway, exploring local formal gardens or castles and stately homes.  For the more adventurous there is mountain biking on trails in nearby Great Dalby Forest or surfing off one of the many beautiful beaches that Yorkshire has to offer. OUR COTTAGES

Being near the coastal towns of Whitby and Scarborough, as well as the market towns of Pickering and Malton (the food capital of Yorkshire!), we are well sited for visiting the best that the Yorkshire Coast and Countryside has to offer. We are also very handy for such attractions as Flamingoland near Pickering and the Alpamare waterpark in Scarborough. For more information on what to see and do, please visit our “What’s On” page. York isn’t very far away, you can either drive or park up and take advantage of the hourly train service from Malton. A perfect day trip is to be had on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, which can coupled with some time in the market town of Pickering.  To the east there is the beautiful Yorkshire Coast with the seaside towns of Bridlington, Scarborough and Whitby all close at hand – all offer something to do throughout the year.  For the more active there are many cycling and mountain biking trails in Dalby Forest

We stayed at the cottages with two other families. Everyone had a brilliant time. The cottages were very clean and had everything you needed. The pool was a big hit with the kids, as well as the games room. It was the perfect weekend away. I am sure we will be back.

We stayed for a long weekend recently with our 2 little ones and I cannot recommend this place enough. From the moment we arrived we felt very relaxed, from the little personal touches in the rooms with homemade cookies and bread, to the beautiful gardens this place is a little treasure. For families with small children this place is ideal, travel cots, highchairs, children's plates etc in each room, stairgates in each cottage. The on site pool was perfect and actually very warm when you're used to being in a baby pool at swimming pools. The games rooms was great, but the best part of all were the gardens. They are absolutely stunning and super safe for kids. We will 100% be back and we have already told our friends to visit too. 20 mins from the beach if you fancy a trip, but enough to do on site for a relaxing weekend away. Thank you for such a lovely trip!

We had a very enjoyable family holiday at Cliff House in April 2023. Our accommodation (The Granary) was excellent and had everything we needed, and our hosts were incredibly helpful in providing useful information in advance of our trip and being on hand to answer questions/solve any issues during our stay. Our children in particular loved the swimming pool!

There's a huge amount to do in the local area - although for us a car was most definitely required.

We would certainly recommend to other families.

We had a lovely weekend in Orchard House. The location is so beautiful and the host was warm, welcoming and so helpful. I would not hesitate to stay again!
The pool is a lovely addition to the property and with our young daughter it gave us something to do to keep her entertained.

This was a splendid holiday in a beautiful cottage in delightful country side. Jacqui and Alistair went out of their way to make everything special and ensure guests had an excellent time.EVERYTHING about our stay was first rate and we look forward to returning next year. Perfect on all counts. Granted we did visit out of season, so could not benefit from all the things we would have liked to (steam train etc), but there was nevertheless a very warm welcome, very comfortable and homely cottage, access to all services despite being the only guests (nothing was denied of us due to that, on the contrary) and what delightful surroundings. So relaxing watching the birds and nature from the window or during our walk in the gardens. Can highly recommend and will do so to friends and family alike.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful village ideal for both countryside and the coast. We dropped off our bags and went to introduce ourselves to the owners as requested. We were shown round the games room and swimming pool and were made to feel very welcome. The bathrooms and the kitchen areas were very modern and clean and the living room was very comfortable. The gardens and the woods were better than expected and over the road is a nature reserve ideal for dog walking. The only negative things I can say about the cottage are that the heating seems to be on a timer which doesn't start until 7 am. At this time of year and being an early riser this wasn't ideal. Also there was a lack of toiletries in the bathrooms. Basic hand-wash after the loo would have been nice. These are both things that could have maybe been rectified by the owners if we had asked but certainly didn't spoil our stay.
I would highly recommend even with the niggles.

Just had a second wonderful stay at Cliff House. This time staying in the Coach House. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and on entering the cottage were greeted with some lovely edible treats - delicious!!
We enjoyed the pool and very much like being able to have exclusive use of it with the allocated time slots for each cottage.
The log fire was lovely - our furry family members agree with this too!
We enjoyed a lovely meal at The Grapes - just a 5 minute stroll away.
We have come away feeling relaxed and recharged after a wonderful few days visiting Dalby Forest, walking in the local area and visiting the seaside.
