In 2020 you may have watched the Channel 5 programme βSecret Life of the Forestβ, which focused on the natural history and nature of the Kielder Forest.Β Now in 2023 itβs the turn of our local forest βThe Great Yorkshire Forestβ to be in the limelight.
The new eight part βSecret Life of the Forestβ, narrated by Robert Lindsey, explores the nature of the forestΒ – made up of Dalby, Cropton and Langdale forests and the lives of the staff that look after them.Β All three forests have something to offer.Β From Cropton and its beavers. Dalby with its visitor centre, mountain bike trails and easy cycling routes. Through to the remoteness of Langdale Forest despite being less than 10 miles from Scarborough.
The βSecret Life of the Forestβ starts on Channel 5 at 2000hrs on Wednesday the 15th of February and will be available on catch up on demand as well.
With βRobson Greenβs Weekend Escapesβ also running on TV this year and βThe Hairy Bikers Go Northβ last year, North Yorkshire and especially the area around Cliff House Holiday Cottages is becoming a bit of a destination for TV shows.
