The Hairy Bikers Go North

News and Events, Places to Eat

If you follow The Hairy Bikers, you will have seen them on BBC2 on Thursdays at 2000hrs exploring the North of England on a culinary adventure.  Two episodes were filmed close to us at Cliff House Holiday Cottages.  One concentrated on the Yorkshire Coast and the delights of that, whilst also sneaking inland to Talbot Yard in Malton to sample the delights of Florian Poirot’s macaron (he makes other things as well, but his speciality is macaron).  Aside from Florian in  the Talbot Yard in Malton there is a butcher (highly recommended), a baker, a coffee shop, a gin distiller and an ice cream maker.  All just 25 minutes away our self catering cottages in Ebberston on the edge of the North York Moors National Park.

The other episode of The Hairy Bikers adventures took them on to the North York Moors National Park.  Based out of Helmsley, they visited a heritage pig breeder, a honey maker (is that the right term?) and The Black Swan in Olstead.  The Black Swan is one of a number of Michelin starred restaurants in the area.

Our five holiday cottages are just on the edge of the North York Moors National Park and 20 minutes from the Yorkshire Coast.  We offer a perfect year round base for exploring the foodie delights of the area.  Our range of five cottages include a 6 person cottage with one en suite and a further 2 bathrooms, as well as smaller cottages suitable for couples and people travelling own their own.  All of our cottages are set within 2 acres of grounds, are dog friendly and all cottages have access to our indoor heated swimming pool.  Have a look below and see for yourself,
